The project aims to plan, reconfigure, and renovate existing shelters in schools and kindergartens, detecting the actual needs through collaboration with stakeholders and the use of the best Swiss practices and Ukrainian experience. It’s a comprehensive effort to enhance safety, empower the community, provide educational and cultural opportunities, and contribute to the overall resilience and recovery of Kyiv, aligning with the broader goals of rebuilding and development.
Analysing the possibilities and needs of the double use (as a local community hub, centre if activities for children, cowering, event space, etc) and participating with all the stakeholders to develop a project that meets the community’s diverse needs.
Leveraging Switzerland’s expertise and Ukraine’s emergency protocols, the project will analyze Kyiv’s community needs. Stakeholders, including kindergarten staff and students, actively participate, ensuring the shelters meet modern standards for usability.
Aligned with Ukraine’s recovery, the project contributes to rebuilding efforts by repurposing shelters. This supports the broader initiative to rehabilitate damaged schools, emphasizing the importance of investing in educational and communal spaces for the nation’s future.
Leveraging Switzerland’s expertise in safe space redevelopment ensures that the project incorporates international best practices and safety standards. The emphasis on sustainability, including energy-efficient technologies, aligns with modern and environmentally friendly practices.
